Enchanted Kingdom

For this weeks project, I decided I wanted to create an immersive enchanted kingdom to experience in VR. I began the project by creating a simple, yet elegant, forest scene in unity. Within my terrain, I played around with the ground to give it some hills. I then painted the ground with a grass and dirt texture followed by the placement of trees and 3 different types of glowing mushrooms.

Now it was time to incorporate the kingdom element of my world. In the unity asset hub, I was able to find some ruined towers and placed one in each corner of my terrain. I really wanted to add a rope bridge asset that connected each of the towers, but unfortunately I was unable to find any assets similar to what I wanted to incorporate.

I also wanted to add a futuristic stone surface with a skull in the middle of the terrain, but for some reason couldn’t get the asset to load to be imported into Unity. For the actual game, I want to make it a 4 player game where each player starts within one of the towers. Once the game begins each player will be assigned a color of glowing mushroom which they have to collect and bring back to their tower. Whoever, collects all their mushrooms first wins!

When trying to get my project to work with SteamVR I ran into quite a few problems and could not get it to work. Besides that one major problem, I really enjoyed this project and feel like I am getting much more comfortable with the program. I cant wait to keep working on this world and try it out in VR.
