Critical Making: Animation in Cinema 4D

This was my first time using Cinema 4D and I absolutely love it. The program is very straight forward and easy to navigate. Throughout the project I did experience slight problems here and there but nothing that really made much of an impact. The one thing that did set me back is that I didn’t have my right click turned on in preferences, so I was unable to execute certain instructions until I was able to resolve that problem.

For the future, I definitely need to focus on lighting and setting. I tried to imitate the lighting I saw in other tutorials but was never able to get it quite right. I would also love to mess around with different textures. I follow an artist, madebystudiojq, who works with the craziest neon, drippy textures in cinema. I follow his tutorials as well, so hopefully I can learn how he creates such beautiful pieces and reflect that in my own work. One more thing that I definitely want to focus on is different types of animations. I feel that I have just scratched the surface of a world with endless possibilities.

Overall I found this project very exciting and although I kept my animations simple, I know that with a little time and practice I can do amazing things with this program.
